Information for Families
Thank you for your interest in Wooster School for the 2012-13 school year. You may begin to apply for financial aid starting on November 1, 2011, as described below. To be eligible for consideration for financial aid at Wooster, you must complete your application by January 23, 2012. We will communicate decisions about financial aid on March 1, 2012. We will award aid at later dates should we have financial aid available. We have awarded financial aid as late as the first day of school for some school years, but aid may be limited.
We use School and Student Services (SSS) to process financial aid applications. SSS is a service of the National Association of Independent Schools. Based on the financial information you provide, SSS gives us an estimated amount your family can contribute to educational expenses. This helps us make fair and objective financial aid decisions. To begin your financial aid application for the 2012-13 school year, follow these steps below.
Important Dates
November 1, 2012- can begin filling out information online- see below
January 23, 2012- deadline for returning Wooster School families to complete financial aid application online. This is also the deadline for prsopective new students if they desire a financial aid decision at the time of the February admission decision
March 1- Financial aid awards will be sent to returning students or students accepted for admission for Fall 2012.
April 15- 2011 tax returns due to SSS. See guidelines.
We typically award financial aid in April for later applicants for admission.
Online
- Starting on November 1, 2011, go to sss.nais.org.
- Click on the prompt to begin your Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS). You have to complete only one PFS even if you have several children applying to our school.
- You will be given a password that will allow you to return to your PFS at a later date before submitting it.
- You will be given instructions about submitting required backup documents by mail. Your documents will be handled with the utmost level of security. To read more about SSS’s document security, go to sss.nais.org.
