Dear Wooster Alumnus,
Welcome to our Wooster alumni webpage. We hope that you will visit us often!
Our biggest change from previous versions, besides the appearance and ease of use, is that we have discontinued hosting the Wooster Online Community. After extensive research on what other schools have implemented, and in talking with many alumni, we determined that most of you prefer to use social and business networking sites such as Facebook and Linked-In. Please click on the following links to find these pages.
We hope our website will provide timely updates and improve our connection to you, our community of Wooster graduates and friends. Check out the following features listed below.

why Wooster
About Self Help:
My funniest memories include the first time I got to run the floor waxer and it took off like a rocket! The other story was begging the headwaiter (when I was assigned to wait tables) to let me have Coach Warner's table because (at age 14) I was in love with his youngest daughter and they occasionally came for dinner.
1 other - as I ran the dishwasher at a church dinner this past week it also occurred to me that I had done that many times before.
Regardless of politics, it's a great idea!

I am sure at the time we had “favorite” jobs…not that we were all that excited to be cleaning toilets and sweeping stairs…but 2 years after I graduated from Wooster, while on a hiatus from college I found myself on “KP” for my rich Uncle Sam, from 0330 hrs (referred to as oh-dark-thirty!) until on many occasions, 1930 hrs having feed 4 meals to 4500 recruits – I’ll bet there were as many pots to scrub as there were dishes to run through the dishwasher at Wooster. I look back on the experience at Wooster and must say I never have had a problem jumping in at church or a business meeting / trade show and just doing what no one else wants to do…thanks Wooster! The Wooster self-help system is the anti-entitlement program that has been around for over 85 years – proud to have been part of it!

About Self Help:
There is no substitute for our Self Help tradition. I took pride with my everyday duties at Wooster and when I became Senior Prefect, I knew every job inside and out. We had to pull our weight around campus, in spite of our social economic status. The experience humbled me and made me a better leader.
I teach orchestra in a public school and many of my kids do not lift a hand at home and are not held accountable. They expect things to be handed to them-I guess it's a generation issue as well. In Wooster, we did what was expected of any decent human being - no more, no less and we did it well.
