Singapore Math

On Thursday evening, February 9, the Lower School teachers presented Math Night - Singapore Math and 21st Century Learning was highlighted.  We had a wonderful turnout including some non-Wooster families.

Topics included: Patterning – moving from the concrete to pictorial to the abstract; Exploring Number Bonds to illustrate the relationships between numbers; building Bar Models using Singapore Math; economics, mental math strategies; and the stock market. It was an exciting and informative evening.

A special thank you is extended to Admissions for funding the child care and to all the dedicated lower school teachers for their insightful presentations.

" I love the way Wooster teaches its math program. The math is exceptional and if you need more of a challenge, you won't be ignored." (grade 3 student)
