Parent User Interface

Informing you of school closings, delayed openings, and early dismissals in a timely manner is one of our most important responsibilities. With so many ways to communicate, it has become ever more challenging for us to reach families quickly and effectively. Therefore, we utilize a system called Instant Alert^TM for Schools. In addition to posting important, time sensitive announcements on Wooster School’s website, phone system, and area television and radio stations, we are also able to communicate with you via the phone numbers and/or e-mail addresses of your choice.

We use the Honeywell Corporation’s Instant Alert^TM for Schools as our vehicle for urgent communications. Within minutes of the decision to close school or change arrival/dismissal times due to inclement weather, we will use Instant Alert to deliver a single, clear message to you by telephone, cell phone, E-mail, pager, or PDA – in any combination. Instant Alert^TM will also be used to communicate with you should an emergency occur on campus.

Instant Alert^TM is internet based, allowing each family to maintain a secure, password protected online profile. You can log on at any time to update your profile and contact information. See the Parent Instruction Sheet under the Downloadable Files section to the right for an instruction sheet on accessing the system and creating your profile. Maintaining the accuracy of your profile* will increase our ability to keep you informed.

Your online profile will enable you to:

• Input your personal contact information
• Select which type of school information you would like to receive on each of your contact devices
• Add contact information of caretakers who may be responsible for dropping off or picking up your children, such as a grandparents, neighbor, or nanny
